About Vector Online Gaming

About Us

Vector Online Gaming (VOG) is a long-time standing online gaming community focused on the area of social gaming founded in January 2005. Our community hosts many online resources, such as this website, a forum, and most importantly our TeamSpeak voice chat to aid our members in their gaming needs. Our community today supports multiple online games with a focus of having a mature, helping, social, and overall enjoyable gaming experience for not only our members, but our staff as well. Our community is completely free to join, however, donations to run our services are greatly appreciated.

Our History

Vector Online Gaming was plotted to come into existence around January 2005. The project was then called Silverleaf. This started on Final Fantasy XI Online as trouble on the game such as real money trading and finding good players to game with consistently got worse. Ultimately we left the game in search for others to play together.

A few of our friends drifted off the game to find other games to enjoy. As funding for our old TeamSpeak server on Final Fantasy XI Online became unstable our founders created a new voice chat server. This is where our members continued to meet as we planned on what games we were going to try for our small community. We found a small, but quickly growing game called Fly for Fun (FlyFF) and made a guild there under the name DhampyreSociety and later an alternate guild named DhampyreInc. This game became the core of our community as it grew with new and great members.

During the next year we were taken advantage of by Iida, a member undergoing guild leadership training, and a lot of our FlyFF materials and funds were stolen. Instead of sulking about it we re-made our guilds and found old members as well as new ones and rebuilt, this time under the name MidnightSociety. The teamwork we fronted allowed us to quickly reach the top 7 richest guild on our server for a long period of time as well as many other accomplishments. Around this time we started changing our project's goals and its name.

Silverleaf. was the name of this project. It was our goal as friends to stay together and to play games together once more and have fun. A last ditch effort for some of us hoping one last time to find or have a good community to belong to while keeping together our old friends. This growing community needed a new name as we started discussing our first plans of moving to other games and having guilds on them as well. During the years after our initial success Silverleaf ultimately became Vector Online Gaming (VOG) and our services expanded to having our first website and forum without any sort of non-associated advertisements or pop-ups. Our staff spent considerable time learning new things and contacting people for information or advice. The end result is what we have today.
